Hugo Junkers Prize for Research and Innovation from Saxony-Anhalt

The Hugo Junkers Prize for Research and Innovation from Saxony-Anhalt has been awarded annually since 1993 by the Ministry for Economics, Science and Digitization of the State of Saxony-Anhalt . Founders, entrepreneurs and scientists from Saxony-Anhalt can apply with their projects and inventions for the award, which is endowed with a total of 80,000 euros . An independent jury evaluates the projects in a multi-stage process with regard to the criteria of profitability, marketability, corporate strategy, resource efficiency and degree of innovation. The award commemorates the entrepreneur and aviation pioneer Hugo Junkers , who worked in Dessau from 1888 to 1933 .

The Luftfahrt-Presse-Club eV (LPC) also awards a Hugo Junkers Prize for outstanding journalistic work on aviation and space travel.
