The Hugo Kükelhaus vocational college is a vocational college in the city of Essen .
history
The college used to be a commercial girls' vocational school. In October 1944, classes were ended for the time being. The college was employed, for example, in school gardens, by the city administration and the employment office. In June 1946, classes were resumed with a total of 1,068 students.
In March 1966 the vocational college moved to a new school building on Gärtnerstrasse in Essen.
Subjects and degrees
The professional subjects are design technology, textile and clothing technology, biotechnology with a focus on hairdressing / cosmetics, health with a focus on nutrition and supply management. In the fields of design technology and clothing technology, the students acquire a double qualification with the vocational qualification and the technical college entrance qualification or the general college entrance qualification in the vocational high school. The field of design engineering offers the focus on graphic and object design and media / communication.
Like all vocational colleges, the Hugo-Kükelhaus-Berufskolleg offers students the opportunity to acquire all school qualifications in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The system is permeable, which means that once you have acquired a degree, you can continue and acquire the next higher one. Schoolchildren who want to reorient themselves also have a good chance of school advancement here, as do those who have dropped out of school.
Even after completing your vocational training, you can continue learning here in order to study with the advanced technical college entrance qualification or the general university entrance qualification.
