Hugo von Schagen (* in the 15th century; † in the 15th century) was cathedral dean in Osnabrück and canon in Münster .

Life

Hugo von Schagen was the son of Johann von Schagen and his wife Lucke NN. Since August 1, 1438, he can be verified as a cathedral dean in Osnabrück. In Bremen he also had a pre-exam . For the first time on October 27, 1442 he is mentioned as a canon of Münster. On July 22, 1450, Hugo joined the protest against the intended election of Walram von Moers as bishop. The election of bishops led to the Munster collegiate feud . On April 15, 1451, Hugo received from the city of Munster the assurance of indemnification in this matter. However, the bishop banned him on August 16, 1451 . The canon Heinrich Korff called Schmising , who had also joined the protest, suffered the same fate.
