Hukou waterfall

The Hukou Waterfall ( 壶口瀑布 , Hukou Pubu ) is located in the middle reaches of the Yellow River (Huang He) between the circle Ji in the province of Shanxi and the circle Yichuan in the province of Shaanxi .

Its width varies with the change of the seasons between 30 and over 50 meters. The height of fall reaches around 20 meters, the flow rate reaches over 1,000 cubic meters per second during the thawing period at the beginning of April, and 8,000 cubic meters per second during the flood in summer.

The waterfall is named for the Huanghe Hukou Waterfall National Park 黄河 壶口 瀑布 风景 名胜 区 and the National Chinese Geopark Hukou Waterfall of the Yellow River 黄河 壶口 瀑布 国家 地质 公园 .
