Humongous Entertainment ( HE for short ) is an American computer game developer and was founded in 1992 by Shelley Day and Ron Gilbert . The company was best known for developing adventure games for children, such as the Fritzi Fisch series. Most of the games were created using the SCUMM system originally developed by Ron Gilbert for LucasArts .

history

In 1996, a division called Cavedog Entertainment was founded to produce mainstream computer games for adults without clashing with Humongous' image. Humongous Entertainment was bought for $ 76 million in July 1996 by GT Interactive , a video game publisher that was later acquired by Infogrames in 1999 (later renamed Atari SA ).

On April 17, 2014 Humongous Entertainment released with Freddi Fish and The Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds , Pajama Sam: No Need to Hide When It's Dark Outside , Spy Fox in "Dry Cereal" , Putt-Putt and Pep's Balloon-o-Rama , Freddi Fish and Luther's Maze Madness , MoonBase Commander and Putt-Putt Joins the Parade a series of games on the Internet distribution platform Steam .
