- Hurricane Karl (1980) , which crossed the central Atlantic Ocean without causing damage to land
- Hurricane Karl (1998) , which moved from Bermuda towards the Azores with no significant impact on land
- Hurricane Karl (2004) , which formed in the mid-Atlantic and finally hit the Faroe Islands as an extra-tropical system
