Hydrogeological compartment

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A hydrogeological compartment is a delimited sub-area in the earth's crust or in the landscape in which comparable hydrogeological , hydrochemical or hydrophysical conditions prevail. Hydrogeological compartments are defined for methodological reasons in order to be able to analyze relationships, differences and interactions between the individual subspaces, with the aim, for example, of better representing genetic relationships.
