Hydroscopy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hydroscopy ( ancient Greek ὕδωρ hýdōr "water" and σκοπεῖν skopeĩn "look") describes on the one hand the skills of a dowser and on the other hand the fortune telling water observation .

A hydroscope is generally a device that enables observations in or under water.

Because of the similarity of sound, the term hydroscopy is often incorrectly used for hygroscopy .
