Hyperpnea

With Hyperpnea refers to one or more in-depth breaths in a row. The tidal volume is increased here. An increased respiratory rate, on the other hand, is called tachypnea . Hyperpnea is physiological when it occurs in the context of increased oxygen consumption by the body, e.g. B. occurs after physical exertion. It is pathological z. B. in the context of Cheyne-Stokes breathing , where hyperpnea alternates with apnea .
