Hypertrophy was a dance project by the two DJs Stefan Heinemann and Thorsten Kaiser , alias DJ Thoka. At the end of the 1990s, the two of them were able to place some single hits in the German, French, British and also US charts under this name .

Beginnings

Both met in a nightclub in Duisburg in the early 1990s when Kaiser was employed there as a DJ. They started making music with a keyboard, a guitar and a tape recorder. In 1993 they bought a recording studio and began to publish pieces of music under Kaiser's stage name DJ Thoka. After initial success, in 1995 they released their first own production under the name Hypertrophy with the title "4 the world EP", with which, however, no notable successes could be celebrated. In 1997 they released the single "Just Come Back To Me" and entered the charts of various countries. Success was celebrated in England, Italy, Spain, Benelux and especially in France, where they reached number one in the dance charts. The single "Beautiful Day", which was released in the same year, was also successful. With this single you could also enter the US charts, where you reached number 2. A year later, the third single "Eternal Flames" was placed in the charts. In 1999 the last single "Pullover" was released for the time being. Until 2005 it was quiet about the dance formation until a remake of the first own single under the name "Just come back 2 me 2005" was released this year. Both producers have successfully released dozens of other music themes internationally.
