Hytte

A typical hytte

A hytte , Norwegian " hut ", a Norwegian holiday home , is mostly a wooden structure, the furnishing of which can range from very simple, without electricity and water, to very complex. It is used for weekend recreation and longer vacation stays. While a hytte couldn't be remote enough for the Norwegians in the past, people today value easy accessibility and comfort. While the classic Hytte is rarely larger than 30 to 40 square meters, one built in 2020 has an average of 96 square meters; 120 to 150 square meters and more are not unusual.
