Ištar-šumu-ereš

Ištar-šumu-ereš was an Assyrian scholar at the court of the kings Aššur-aḫḫe-iddina and Aššur-bāni-apli . He was the son of Nabû-zehr-lešir and thus came from a respected family of scholars. Among other things, he held the offices of rab ṭupšarri (chief clerk) and ummānu . So far, 27 documents have been found by him in the state archives of Nineveh , in which he reports the results of astrology and divination .
