I-Ching cards

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I-Ching cards are fortune-telling cards that build on the I-Ching . They consist of 64 cards, corresponding to the hexagrams of the I-Ching, with some versions of the explanatory text also being on the cards. They are used for divination as well as for meditation and contemplation .

criticism

One point of criticism of the I-Ching cards is that they do not go into the changeability of the hexagrams and thus actually reduce the term I, change, to absurdity. The cards only deal with the basic interpretation of the hexagrams (judgment and picture), but not with the individual lines which, in the conventional I-Ching, make up the most essential part of the oracle .
