IEEE Internet Award
The IEEE Internet Award is an award given by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) since 2000. The prize is awarded annually to up to three people (there were four in the first year) who have made a special contribution to promoting Internet technology in the areas of network architecture, mobility and applications.

- 2000 - Paul Baran , Donald W. Davies , Leonard Kleinrock, and Larry Roberts (for their contributions to packet switching )
- 2001 - Louis Pouzin (for his contributions to datagram technology)
- 2002 - Steve Crocker (for his leadership in developing the Internet protocol family )
- 2003 - Paul Mockapetris (for the development of the Domain Name System , together with Jon Postel, who died in 1998 )
- 2004 - Raymond Tomlinson and David H. Crocker (for developing the email )
- 2005 - Sally Floyd (for her contributions to modeling, analyzing and controlling data flows)
- 2006 - Scott Shenker (for his contributions to Resource Sharing)

- 2008 - Mike Brecia , Ginny Travers, and Bob Hinden (for early router development )
- 2009 - Lixia Zhang (for work on Internet Topology)
- 2010 - Steve Deering (for contributions on IP multicast and IPv6 )
- 2011 - Jun Murai (for leading role in the global development of the Internet, especially in Asia)
- 2012 - Mark Handley (for contributions in various fields and the development of open Internet standards)
- 2013 - David L. Mills (for articles on time synchronization on the Internet)
- 2014 - Jon Crowcroft (for contributions in various fields)
- 2015 - KC Claffy and Vern Paxson (for contributions to internet security and the provision of open access data)
- 2016 - Henning Schulzrinne (for contributions to the formation and standardization of multimedia protocols on the Internet)
- 2017 - Deborah Estrin (“For formative contributions and thought leadership in Internet routing and in mobile sensing techniques and applications, from environmental monitoring to personal and community health.”)
- 2018 - Ramesh Govindan ("For sustained contributions to the dynamic analysis of the Internet (protocols, topologies, configurations) and the Internet of Things (sensor networks).")
- 2019 - Jennifer Rexford ("For fundamental contributions to the programmability, stability, and performance of large computer networks, and leadership within the networking community.")
- 2020 - Stephen L. Casner and Eve M. Schooler (“For distinguished leadership in developing standards for Internet multimedia, and formative contributions to the design of Internet multimedia protocols.”)
