IJmeer

The IJmeer is a bay of the Markermeer . It forms the southernmost part of this Dutch inland lake and borders the Polder De Nes , the Pampushaven , the Hollandse Brug and the mouth of the IJ . The IJmeer is an important bird resting place.

Since 1998, several artificial islands have been washed up for the IJburg development area in Amsterdam . However, in 2004 this was stopped because the effects on nature had not been adequately investigated.

The IJmeer borders on Flevoland and the Gooimeer in the east .
