ION ( Greek Ίον , actually "violet") is a chocolate manufacturer from Athens .

history

ION chocolate has been produced since 1927 and today's company has existed since 1930. Until the 1980s, chocolate was strong vanilla flavor (because of the vanillin ) exclusively offered in two versions, Amigdalou (milk chocolate with almonds) and Galaktos (milk chocolate), both of which are still unchanged in packaging and taste. Besides the dark chocolate Pavlidis (fasting chocolate without milk), these were the only chocolates in Greece for a long time.

Since the late 1980s there has also been the Break product line in square packs with different flavors, since 2005 the ION Ghana and ION Ecuador , both of which have a high cocoa content and differ only in the cocoa variety.
