The standard DIN EN ISO 1043 specifies abbreviations for plastics (part 1), fillers and reinforcing materials (part 2), plasticizers (part 3) and flame retardants (part 4). In addition, each sub-standard introduces code letters for further differentiation (e.g. A - amorphous, E - foamed, P - containing plasticizers in Part 1). The parts of DIN EN ISO 1043 were last published in 2012 (Part 2), 2002 (Part 1) and 1999 (Part 3 and 4). It replaces DIN 7723 .
