history

A large number of different individual competitions took place even before the Grand Prix series was established. The ISU Champions Series took place for the first time in the 1995/96 season .

In the 1998/99 season the ISU acquired the naming rights. Since then, the competition series has been running under the name Grand Prix of Figure Skating . The Cup of Russia has been part of this series since 1996 . Due to a lack of interest in Germany and a better TV offer from China, the Bofrost Cup (previously Sparkassen Cup / Nations Cup ) was canceled in 2003 and replaced by the Cup of China .

The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating has also been held since 1997 .
