The ITOH N-62 "Silberreiher" (日 大 ・ 伊藤忠 N-62 イ ー グ レ ッ ト) was a STOL aircraft from the Japanese manufacturer ITOH with two or four-seat variants.

History and construction

The N-62 was designed by students under the direction of Professor Hidemasa Kimura of Nihon University , Tokyo , and built by ITOH. The machine was designed as a braced shoulder-wing deck and completely clad with metal. It had a non-retractable three-point landing gear.

Due to its STOL properties, the machine only needed 190 meters to take off and 150 meters to land and was powered by a Lycoming O-320-B2B piston engine with 160 HP.

It was the first light aircraft to be built in Japan after the war.
