The IVL Haukka was a fighter aircraft made by the Finnish manufacturer Ilmailuvoimien Lentokonetehdas .

History and construction

The Haukka was designed by Kurt Berger as a double decker with an open cockpit and fixed tail landing gear. It was powered by a Gnome-Rhone Jupiter IV radial engine. The first aircraft, known as the Haukka I , made its maiden flight on March 17, 1927. This was later followed by the Haukka II , a further developed version that was used by the Finnish Air Force for some time until foreign aircraft were procured.
