Lance Jeter (born July 18, 1988 in Beaver Falls , Pennsylvania ) is an American basketball player on the position of point guard .

Career

During his " high school " days, Jeter was a "first-team all-state" in both basketball and American football , which equates to the best high school player in the US state of Pennsylvania in his playing position. He then got a sports scholarship from the University of Cincinnati and was supposed to play on the American football team at the college. As a newcomer, he skipped the first year of championship games and only trained with them. However, Jeter dropped out of his academic career at this college after a year and went to Polk State College , a community college in Winter Haven , Florida . Jeter, who is more than an American football player at a height of 1.90 m, weighs more than two hundred pounds and is unusually strong for a basketball player of his size, concentrated on the game of basketball at Polk College, which is also his Mother Joy had successfully exercised in college who was a " Most Outstanding Player " in winning the 1987 NCAA Division II championship. He won the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA) conference championships twice with the Eagles college team . He then continued his studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2009 . This was, of all places, a university where the sports teams in American football have a greater tradition than in basketball. With the college team (Corn-) Huskers in the Big Ten Conference of NCAA Division I, it was enough to participate in the National Invitation Tournament 2011, in which they lost significantly in the first round against the Shockers of Wichita State University .

After completing his studies in 2011, Jeter turned professional in Europe and played in the Dutch Basketball League for Aris from Leeuwarden in the 2011/12 season . While Jeter was the second best scorer in the league with just under 17 points per game, Aris missed the play-offs of the four best teams for the championship. For the following season, Jeter trained with a "try-out" contract with the Polish first division club AZS Koszalin , before the German runner-up ratiopharm from Ulm signed Jeter at the beginning of September 2012 after an injury to their regular point guard Tommy Mason-Griffin . After a defeat in the qualifying round for the ULEB Euroleague 2012/13 , Jeter reached the quarter-finals with the Ulm club in the Eurocup 2012/13 , in which they lost to the eventual finalist Uxue Bilbao Basket . Reaching the round of the best eight teams in the second most important European club competition was the greatest international success in the history of the club. For the 2013/2014 season, however, Jeter did not receive a new contract in Ulm, but moved to the first Polish league PLK to Trefl in Sopot . In the 2015/16 season, Lance Jeter returned to the Basketball Bundesliga after a year with Donar Groningen (Netherlands) and signed a contract with the Mitteldeutscher Basketball Club (MBC) in Weissenfels until the end of the season.
