University of Nebraska
The University of Nebraska is one of two state university systems in the US state of Nebraska . The system consists of four universities and a technical college :
- University of Nebraska-Lincoln
- University of Nebraska Omaha
- University of Nebraska at Kearney
- University of Nebraska Medical Center (located in Omaha )
- Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (located in Curtis )
history
The University of Nebraska was founded in Lincoln in 1869 . For the first 99 years, the university was synonymous with the Lincoln campus. In 1902 the Medical Center in Omaha was added. The university was organized in its present form in 1968 when it accepted the University of Omaha into the network. The Kearney State College was included in the composite 1991 as the fourth member.
