The University of Nebraska Omaha is a state university in Omaha in the US state of Nebraska . With 14,093 students, it is the second largest college in Nebraska. It is part of the University of Nebraska system.

history

The college was founded in 1908 as the University of Omaha . In 1931 it was renamed the Municipal University of Omaha . It received its current name when it entered the University of Nebraska system in 1968 .

The UN Omaha sports teams are the Omaha Mavericks . The university is a member of The Summit League . The hockey team plays in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference .
