The Hambacher Höhe is a district of the Palatinate city ​​of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse in Rhineland-Palatinate .

Geographical location

The noble residential area is 180 to 210  m above sea level. NHN height southwest of the city center on the northeast slope of the 490  m high Noll head and south of Speyerbach tals that there to the hill country on the German Wine Route and the Rhine valley opens out.

history

The name comes from the neighboring wine-growing village of Hambach , which is now incorporated into Neustadt , whose castle of the same name has been a German symbol of freedom since the Hambach Festival of 1832.
