Gas family

Gas family is a name for types of fuel gas that are similar in terms of their physical and combustion properties. Its main use is gas installation.

A distinction is made between 4 gas families (GF for short).

The installation of building services systems of the 1st, 2nd and 4th GF is regulated in the TRGI , that of the 3rd GF in the TRF .

In Germany, gas families are classified in the DVGW worksheet G 260.
