Otto Hellmut Lienert

Otto Hellmut Lienert (born October 15, 1897 in Einsiedeln , Canton Schwyz , † June 10, 1965 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss author .

Otto Hellmut Lienert comes from Einsiedeln . He is a nephew of the dialect and local poet Meinrad Lienert . After high school, after helping out in his parents' business, including as a traveling salesman, he worked for 13 years in Zurich as head of propaganda and editor at the Conzett and Huber publishing house in Zurich. After his marriage to the musician Gertrud Frei from Sursee , he moved to Sursee in 1937 , where he lived for three decades as a freelance writer and as an employee of magazines and radio. His work includes several novels, books for young people and a number of volumes of poetry. From 1944 to 1956 Otto Hellmut Lienert was on the board of the Swiss Writers 'Association, and in 1943 co-founder (and first president) of the Central Swiss Writers' Association.
