Ian King

Ian Graham King (born April 24, 1956 ) is a British manager . From 2008 to 2017 he was Chief Executive Officer of the defense company BAE Systems .

Life

King began his professional career in 1976 at the telecommunications company Marconi Electronic Systems, initially working at the production facilities in Scotland and Portsmouth . From 1986 to 1992 he was Finance Director of Marconi Defense Systems and from 1992 to 1998 Finance Director of Marconi Electronic Systems. After the company's merger with British Aerospace , he became head of the strategy and planning department (Group Strategy and Planning Director) of the newly founded company BAE Systems in 1999.

Since September 2008, King has headed the defense company BAE Systems as CEO and successor to Michael Turner .

Ian King is married with one child and lives in Portsmouth with his family.
