In ancient times, the term Iberia was applied to two landscapes :
- the country through which the Hiberus River (Ebro) flows, i.e. the Iberian Peninsula with Spain and Portugal,
- a country south of the Caucasus Mountains in the southeast of today's Georgia, see Iberia (Caucasia) .
