IceWarp Server (formerly IceWarp Merak Mail Server ) is a proprietary communication solution with the core components mail server and groupware , which has implemented many open standards such as OpenLDAP . The entire solution is provided by the European company IceWarp Ltd. developed; sales and support also run through IceWarp Ltd.

The server has a modular structure and is also licensed. Therefore, only those modules need to be licensed which are actually required. The following modules are available:

  • Mail servers - MTA , LDAP , POP3 , SMTP and IMAP servers
  • Webmail - Ajax -based webmail
  • Anti-Spam - Anti-Spam engine with the core component SpamAssassin and the second layer CYREN ex Commtouch
  • Anti-Virus - virus scanner based on the Kaspersky engine
  • FTP server - proprietary FTP server
  • Instant Messaging Server - XMPP (Jabber) based IM server
  • GroupWare modules - Sharing PIM data with other users (calendar sharing, public address book, etc.)
  • Outlook Sync - Outlook add-in for the synchronization of PIM data between Outlook and IceWarp Server
  • ActiveSync Server for GroupWare - ActiveSync Server
  • SyncML Server for GroupWare - SyncML Server
  • CalDAV Server for GroupWare - CalDAV Server
  • VoIP SIP server - VoIP solution
