Ichiei Ishibumi

Ichiei Ishibumi ( Japanese 石 踏 一 榮 Ishibumi Ichiei ; * 1981 ) is a Japanese light novel author.

Career

Ichiei Ishibumi took part in 2005 in the organized by the publishing house Fujimi Shobō 17th competition for Fantasia Chōhen Shōsetsu Taishō (Eng. "Great Fantasy Novel Prize") with which this young talent was looking. Ishibumi's submission, Denpachi , won the Special Jury Prize, which brought him under contract with the publisher, who published his debut work in January 2006. His second novel Slash / Dog was published in August of the same year. Although this was laid out as a series, initially it did not go beyond the first volume.

He had his breakthrough with High School D × D, which started in September 2008 and grew to a cycle of 22 volumes so far (as of December 2016), when it was also adapted as a manga and anime series. In the later course of the plot, he incorporated the protagonist from Slash / Dog as a further character and the crossover Daten no Inugami - Slashdog on Fujimi Shobo's web novel site Fantasia Beyond was created between July 2014 and March 2015 .
