Ichididen
The Ichschididen ( Arabic إخشيديون, DMG Iḫšīdiyūn ) were a Turkish dynasty in early Islamic Egypt , they ruled the country from 935 to 969.

The Ichschid Muhammad ibn Tughdsch was appointed governor in Syria by the caliph in 930 and in Egypt in 933 . Despite the strong position of power, he continued to recognize the suzerainty of the Abbasids . However, he had to defend his rule against the attacks of the Fatimids from Ifrīqiya and internal uprisings by Shiites .
The black eunuch Kafur won the reign for the successors of Muhammad and was also able to obtain recognition as governor by the caliph in 966 . He was a great patron of art and science. However, the Fatimids succeeded in conquering Egypt in 969 under the Ichshidid ruler Abu l-Fawaris and overthrowing the dynasty.
