Iddin-Dagān

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Iddin-Dagān was a king of the Isin-Larsa period from the Isin first dynasty and son of Šū-ilišu . Historical information about him can only be found in the names of the years. These only document cultic activities. Hence Iddin-Dagān seems to have lived in an overall peaceful and stable time.

He is also known for literary works that were created during his reign. This includes in particular the Ninsun hymn , which the akitu festival describes in detail.
