Ídolo de Tara or Ídolo de Chil

The Ídolo de Tara ( German  "the idol of Tara" ) is a figure made of red clay . Since the location of Tara on Gran Canaria is not clearly secured, the figure is also called "Ídolo de Chil" in scientific literature.

The figure is 26 cm high, 20 cm wide and 10 cm deep. She has crossed legs and curved arms. The head is small in relation to the body. The facial features are only indicated schematically. Whether it is a female or male figure is controversial. It is also interpreted as "figura hermafrodita" .

The figure is exhibited in the Museo Canario in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria .
