Idrottsbladet , also known as IB , was a Swedish sports newspaper .

history

The Idrottsbladet newspaper was founded in 1910. In 1915 Torsten Tegnér took over the newspaper, which he expanded into one of the most important sports newspapers in Sweden. Until 1967 he managed the fortunes of the newspaper as editor , which at times had a circulation of over 50,000 copies.

In the 1970s and 1980s Idrottsbladet developed from a general sports newspaper to a specialist magazine for motorsport . From 2001 the newspaper appeared under the name Idrottsbladet Motorsport and was the official press organ of Svenska Bilsportförbundet until 2005 . The newspaper was later published under the direction of Svenska Motorcykel- och Snöskoterförbundet , who renamed it Svensk Motorsport in 2008 . In September 2009 the newspaper was discontinued.
