Igala Union

The Igala Union was a political party and the nationalist alliance of the Igala people in Nigeria during the time of the First Republic.

The union was originally founded by members of influential Igala groups who leaned towards the Northern Peoples Congress . She advocated mother tongue teaching in the Igala language , a yoruboid language .

In the national election to the House of Representatives in Nigeria in 1959, the Igala Union won a total of four seats in the country's House of Representatives .
