Ignatius Press is a leading global Catholic publisher based in San Francisco , California . It is named after the co-founder of the Jesuit order Ignatius von Loyola and was founded in 1978 by the Jesuit priest Joseph Fessio , a former student of Pope Benedict XVI. , founded. The publishing house sees its most important task in translating Christian writings from the European continent into English.
