Igor Anatoljewitsch Batalin ( Russian Игорь Анатольевич Баталин ; * 1945 ), is a Russian theoretical physicist who deals with quantum field theory.

He holds a habilitation (Russian doctorate) and is a senior scientist in the theory department of the Lebedev Institute in Moscow.

In 1995 he and Grigori Alexandrowitsch Wilkowyski (Vilkovisky) received the Tamm Prize for their development of a general formalism for the quantization of gauge field theories (Batalin-Vilkovisky formalism or BV formalism). After that, Batalin-Vilkovisky algebras are also named.
