The Igreja do Corpo Santo is a Catholic church in the municipality of Misericórdia in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon . It is a typical example of Pombalinist religious architecture .

history

The church belonged to the Convento do Corpo Santo founded by Irish Dominicans . In its current form, it was created after the earthquake of 1755 .

The corners form mighty triple pilasters . The central axis is emphasized by the entrance portal. Six side altars show Dominic , Martin of Braga and Mary of the Rosary Queen on the left, Francis of Assisi , Telmo and Patrick of Ireland on the right .
