Ilgesheim

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ilgesheim is a desert on the Baumholder military training area in Rhineland-Palatinate. The village was abandoned in the following years after it had 227 inhabitants in 1933.

As a former part of the County of Grumbach, Ilgesheim was mostly Protestant. The few Catholic residents had been assigned to the Offenbach parish since 1889 .

By the Rhineland-Palatinate "state law on the dissolution of the manor district Baumholder and its local reorganization" of November 2, 1993 (GVBl, p. 518), the area was reclassified on January 1, 1994 to the local community of Homberg in the Kusel district .
