Ilya Iossifowitsch Klebanow ( Russian Илья Иосифович Клебанов ; born May 7, 1951 in Leningrad ) is a Russian politician and businessman .

Life

Klebanov studied engineering at the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute . After completing his studies, he worked for the Lomo company . He was a member of the St. Petersburg Connection . Klebanov is a former Vice-Governor of Saint Petersburg, a former Minister of Industry and Science and a former Deputy Prime Minister. From 2003 to 2011, he succeeded Valentina Matviyenko as the President's Plenipotentiary in the Northwestern Federal District . Since 2011 he has been head of the supervisory board of the state shipping company Sowkomflot . Klebanow is married and has two children.
