Image warping

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Warping (from English warp = deform, distort) of images is one of the image-based techniques in computer graphics . If the corresponding depth values exist for an image, it is possible to view the image from a different point of view using the warping equation. The method is real-time capable , but brings some artifacts such as detection or concealment errors with it.

error

  • Covering errors : Image areas that were originally covered by objects may be visible in the new perspective, but cannot be displayed correctly due to missing information.
  • Revealing errors : Similar to the concealment errors , the back of the object can become visible here, which is also not correctly displayed.
  • External detection error : Objects and scene areas that were outside the image can get into the image. These are also not shown.
