Imiglycos

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Imiglykos is the Greek word for " semi-sweet ", a term that is used for wines in both the red and white wine segments (→ viticulture in Greece ).

Compared to other European wines, it can often be seen that these wines labeled "Imiglykos" are relatively sweet.

Other Greek names in relation to the residual sweetness are

  • glycos = sweet,
  • imixiros = semi-dry,
  • xiros = dry.
