Impulsiveness

The term impulsiveness characterizes sound emissions , mostly noise , with periodic or non-periodic strong changes in the sound emission level .

The characteristic here is the rapid change in the emission level over time; noises with strong but slow level changes are not classified as impulsive.

According to German immission control law, impulsive emissions can be provided with an impulse surcharge in the assessment level. This surcharge for impulsiveness can be determined for measurements by determining the difference between the maximum cycle averaging level and the averaging level (No. 2.9 TA Lärm). For forecast calculations it is estimated on the basis of empirical values ​​between 0 and 6 dB.
