In odium fidei

The Latin expression in odium fidei means “from hatred of faith”, “from hatred of faith”. The phrase is used by the Roman Catholic Church primarily in connection with the processes of beatification and canonization when the person died for the sake of the faith at the hands of those who hate the faith. She then receives the title of martyr .
