Indian River (original title: The Forest Rangers ) is a Canadian television series produced between 1963 and 1965 .

A group of young forest rangers, led by Peter Keeley, is fighting against the threats to nature as well as thieves and criminals in Indian River. They are supported by the Indian Joe Two Rivers, who is at your side with advice and action with his Indian experience. Peter's big brother George Keeley, head of the adult Forest Rangers, and Mountie Sergeant Brian Scott try in every episode in vain to curb the youngsters in their spirit of enterprise.

- The series was created exclusively in the Canadian province of Ontario . Filming locations were Gravenhurst , Toronto , Kleinburg, Mary Lake, King City, Whitney and Widdifield.
- Indian River was the first Canadian television series to be produced in color and also became a commercial success internationally.
- In June 2004, after decades, there was a meeting of former actors with fans of the series in Kleinburg. In June 2013, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the series, there was another meeting, at which, in addition to Gordon Pinsent, nine actors from the then junior rangers were present.
- In the GDR, 14 episodes of the series were broadcast on the DFF in 1968 and 1969 . Between 1970 and 1973, 54 episodes of the half-hour episodes closed in their plot were shown on ZDF in Germany.
