The castle Oberrommental is an Outbound hilltop castle on a 553.4 m above sea level. NN high hill in the Schlater Forest near the hamlet Rommental of the municipality of Schlat in the district of Göppingen in Baden-Württemberg .
The castle was built around 1250 by the Spitzbergisch- help stone ministers , the knights of Böhringen, presumably to supervise an early trade route from Oberböhringen to Süßen , which connected Ulm and Schwäbisch Gmünd . In 1396 the castle was sold to the imperial city of Ulm.
The castle stable , on which there is a forest workers' hut, still shows the neck ditch and small remains of the wall, including a shield wall .
