The castle Lotenberg is an Outbound hilltop castle on the highest point ( 490 m above sea level. NN ) of the solders mountain in Eschenbach in the district of Göppingen in Baden-Württemberg .
The castle, protected on three sides by ramparts and moats , was built by the Dukes of Teck as an "official castle" in the 13th century. In 1279 her servant Eberhard von Lotenberg named himself after her. The castle soon fell into disrepair.
The castle stable still shows small remains of the castle hill and a wall. Today's group of houses is reminiscent of the former castle development.
