The Leimburg castle ruins , also known as Leimberg , are the ruins of a hilltop castle in the Gruibingen district at 704.4 m above sea level. NN above Auendorf, a district of Bad Ditzenbach , in the district of Göppingen in Baden-Württemberg . The ruin is located on the 705 meter high Lower Leimberg .
The small castle with a residential tower and shield wall , built in the 12th century by the knights of Leimberg, who presumably came from the local nobility of Gosbach, was first mentioned in 1180, was later owned by the Ursberg monastery and was destroyed in 1533. There are still a few remains of the walls of the castle.
