An Indian mace or Gorz , Garz or Gerz is a cutting weapon from India .
description
An Indian mace has a straight, usually round, metal shaft. A round, heavy, fluted or smooth hammer head is attached to the end of the hammer head. The shaft was probably originally made of wood, but it was replaced by metal over time and can be decorated and designed differently depending on the version. The mace was used by foot and horse troops. There are many different versions that vary in length and design. The Indian name Gorz , Garz or Gerz refers to different types of maces. Maces were used exclusively by members of the warrior caste ( kshatriyas ).
