Indonesian Super League

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Indonesian Super League is the team championship in badminton in Indonesia .

history

Although Indonesia has been a world power in badminton for decades, a national team competition has only been considered since 2003. In 2007, the competition only premiered. Title fights will be held separately for women's and men's teams. The late introduction of team competitions is due, on the one hand, to the large domestic distances in the country, and, on the other, to the diverse international obligations of the Indonesian badminton elite. The competition is not held in several rounds of points, but rather compactly in less than a week. Team competitions between the individual Indonesian provinces have been held for a long time as part of the national games. In contrast to the Super League, no foreign players are allowed to compete there.
